Reading Boot Camp (K1 – K2)

We are running our first-ever reading boot camp for K1 – K2. This reading boot camp aims to equip children with 8 critical aspects of reading – Engagement, Active understanding, Narrative Intelligence & Higher Order Thinking, Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary-building and Structural Awareness. During the boot camp, expect a high energy session with hands-on activities, participation in various higher order activities and songs. All these activities aim to provide children with an environment of immersive learning.

Parent & Child Reading Workshop (N1 – N2)

Come bond with your child through a reading workshop where you will both get to experience Integrated Phonics (through songs, rhymes and poems) and Listening & Reading comprehension (through immersive Reading Strategies) in a fun way. This workshop requires a parent and child to participate together in activities to foster teamwork and to allow parents to understand how to create an immersive learning environment for the child.

Writing Boot Camp

Improve your child’s composition by attending this 5-day writing boot camp. Children will be taught to identify what it takes to produce a good piece of creative writing composition. Through hands-on activities, they will get to use their imagination and learn how to exercise their creativity and critical thinking in their writing through hands-on exercises.

Primary 1
  • Introduction of oneself through the use of descriptive words
  • Using adjectives to describe an object and emote feelings
  • Writing about an object through multiple perspectives
  • Expressing oneself using verbs and adjectives to share a real experience
Primary 2
  • Introduction of oneself through the use of descriptive language

Actors Centre Kids Boot Camp

Join us this holiday as we take your N1 to P3 kid on a magical journey through various theatrical scenarios. Using skills learned in the programme, we will provide your kid with confidence, the creativity skills to think out of the box and, more importantly, collaboration skills. During this 5-day workshop, kids will learn how to present in front of an audience, using vocal expression to give life to characters and develop their mindset and imagination through fun and challenging exercises and activities.

N1 & N2 (3-4 years old)

This is a theme-based programme that uses: stories; songs, discussions; drama activities, craft work, movement, music and improvised adventures to develop Confidence, Creativity and Collaboration. Each day, your child will take home a craft created in class that is related to and used in their themed adventure activities.

In this bootcamp, your child will:
  • Learn to build characterisation through acting techniques based on the individual themes.
  • Improve emotional control through emotion-based explorations.
  • Improve vocal projection and oral language skills by speaking in front of their friends and in group settings.
  • Develop the confidence to express their ideas through open discussions, storytelling and improvisation.
  • Explore language and develop comprehension skills by taking part in interactive storytelling.
  • Develop gross motor skills through drama, songs and movement.
  • Develop collaboration skills by listening and accepting others’ ideas through various team-based theatrical activities.
  • Develop creativity by participating in exciting, improvised adventures.
  • Take home a daily craft related to and used in their themed adventure activities.

K1 & K2 (5-6 years old)

This is a creativity and acting skills-based programme that uses stories, discussions, drama activities, movement, music, improvised activities, scenes and adventures to develop Confidence, Creativity and Collaboration. Every day your kid gets the opportunity to use, explore and engage with various props and costume pieces from the Creativity Chest. These items are used as a stimulus to create monologues, dialogues and improvised scenes. The Creativity Chest allows children to push their creative limits and lets their ideas soar! Your kid will also prepare for and rehearse a short performance that parents can watch at the end of the bootcamp. So, come and join us and watch your kid shine!!!

In this bootcamp, your child will:

The Space Cadet Explorer (Combined subjects of English, Math and Science)

Calling all budding space cadets! Be a space cadet for a day and explore the outer space at MindChamps. During your expedition, be prepared to learn the following:

English
  • Identify the main idea(s) in the text and author’s purpose and tone
  • Recognise cause and effect and make inferences and predictions based on information in the text
